Challenge
Problem
Customers had limited visibility into trusted bot activity and no centralized way to monitor, analyze, or manage known bots. Without a dedicated reporting experience, it was difficult to distinguish legitimate automation from malicious traffic and understand bot behavior over time.
Solution
Designed a reporting experience that organizes known bot activity into a clear hierarchy of summary insights, analytical views, and detailed reporting. The goal was to help users quickly understand trusted bot traffic while supporting deeper investigation when needed.
Report Structure
The report follows a progressive information hierarchy, allowing users to move naturally from high-level understanding to detailed investigation.
A. Summary
Immediate visibility into overall known bot activity through KPI highlights and top active bots.
B. Analysis
Category breakdowns, mitigation actions, AI activity, and historical trends provide additional operational context.
C. Investigation
Endpoint-level reporting supports detailed analysis through searchable, filterable records.
The report guides users from high-level visibility to deeper analysis and endpoint-level investigation. Each section builds on the previous one to support a clear path through known bot activity.
Design Approach
The reporting experience was organized around the questions users need answered while reviewing known bot activity. Each dashboard area supports a specific level of understanding, from setting context to identifying patterns and investigating details.
Outcome
Introduced a dedicated reporting experience that transformed known bot activity into a structured, easy-to-navigate workflow. The final design combined clear information hierarchy, reusable visualization patterns, and scalable reporting components to support faster understanding and investigation.
